From the MCA President

It has been another busy period for the MCA since our last update. I hope you have seen some of the posts on Facebook which have given an idea what we have been up to. With a Federal Election looming the executive have been meeting a number of the candidates and explaining both what we do as the MCA and what key issues we are hoping to work on for the town in the coming years.

MCA and Yass Valley Council will now meet quarterly where we will raise local concerns and continue to work with YVC to deliver outstanding projects - we are keen to establish the status and delivery of the promised playground as this is a priority for the community.

Elsewhere work for the 2025 Field Days is well underway so look out for updates over the coming months and perhaps consider volunteering to help this year.

Our AGM was on the 20 March and we had some significant changes to the MCA Committee. I handed over the reins as President to Stephanie Helm who has been my more than industrious deputy for the last 12 months.

Other elected positions are:

Vice President - Rowan Geddes

Secretary - Annaliese Caston

Treasurer - Jenny Weekes

Committee Members - Bob Evans, Steve Crabb, Judy Breen, Judy Brace, Iain McCall.

We look forward to progressing MCA through the life experiences of this new team working for achieving maximum benefit for the Murrumbateman community.

I hope you will support the new team and feel able to contact them with both ideas for improving our community and any issues you think we can help with.

In finishing I would like to thank everyone in the MCA and the wider community who have helped me in my role as President over the last 2 years.
