About Us

The Murrumbateman Lions Club has had another big year with projects and fundraising in 2024.

The clubs major fundraising activities for the 2024 year were the Friday night raffles at the Murrumbateman Country Inn, the sale of drinks and ice creams at the Murrumbateman Field Days and BBQ’s every three months at the Village Markets.

The club aims for the majority of the funds raised to go back into the local community. Funding activities this year included support for the Murrumbateman Public School and Murrumbateman Scouts Group, supporting young sports people and a jointly funded (with Yass Valley Council) all accessibility pathway at Jones Park.

The Club undertook a number of community initiatives throughout the year, starting with the Australia Day Community Breakfast at Jones Park and continued throughout the year with running of the ANZAC Day Commemoration Service, the Lions Junior Public Speaking program with a grand final between Murrumbateman Public School and Berinba Public School from Yass and the introduction of used glasses collection at the Murrumbateman Pharmacy as part of the Lion Recycle for Sight.

The club has continued maintenance of the Murrumbateman Bush Cemetery with oiling of the timber fence and the installation of plaques on the original seats to commemorate Lions members no longer with us.

The club would like to acknowledge the efforts of all our members in contributing to the club’s success for the year. We would also like to thank the Murrumbateman community for their ongoing support.
