School Holiday Program
This summer, the Yass Valley Council is excited to offer a fun-filled school holiday program, proudly supported by the NSW Government.
Kids and teens can enjoy a variety of activities including ice skating in Canberra, lawn bowls in Yass, and an introductory boxing glass.
For those who love getting creative, we’ll be making bottle cap magnets, screen printing, designing street art, and crafting charming jar lanterns.
There’s something for everyone, so come join the fun and make the most of the holidays with us! These programs all start from the 6 January 2025. See our website for details.
Christmas on Comur Street
Join us for Christmas on Comur Street on December 12 from 4 to 9pm!
This festive evening will feature bustling night markets with unique stalls, holiday treats, and live entertainment.
Don’t miss the highlight of the night – the street parade with over 50 floats, walkers, vintage cars, and Sant’s grand arrival!
Afterwards, kids can visit Santa’s grotto, beautifully decorated with Christmas trees and magical snow.
Every child will get to meet Santa and receive a small bag of goodies.
This is a perfect way to celebrate the season with family and friends – mark your calendars!
New Leadership for Yass Valley Council
Exciting news from Yass Valley Council! We proudly introduce our newly appointed Mayor, Councilor Jasmin Jones, and Deputy Mayor, Councilor Kristin Butler.
Jasmin, as Mayor, is committed to fostering sustainable growth and enhancing the quality of life for all residents, while Kristin, as Deputy Mayor, will support these efforts with her strong focus on community engagement and innovation. Together, they look forward to working closely with the community and the other councilors to achieve a cleaner, greener, and more prosperous Yass Valley.
Before every Council meeting, you can book time with Jasmin and Kristin to discuss any issues or ideas you might have.
Whether you prefer to stop by at the Council administration building or meet via Teams, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor are here to listen!
