Murrumbateman Works Update
Recreation Ground Public Toilets – Construction is progressing well, and the concrete slab was laid in February. The facilities are expected to be open by April.
Recreation Ground Ring Road Sealing – Work has begun to improve the internal roads and should be completed by April. The road will remain open, with traffic control measures in place throughout the project.
Murrumbateman Playground – Due to an Aboriginal land claim on the initial Old School House site, Council is now investigating a new location. Two options are being considered:
• Recreation Grounds – A larger space but located across the highway.
• Hercules Street Playground – A smaller space but within the village.
We remain committed to delivering this playground and will conduct community consultation in April to determine your preferred location. Keep an eye out for details on how to vote!
Old School House Plan of Management (PoM) – A draft version is now available on our Public Consultation webpage. If you would like to provide feedback on the plan, which covers the management of the site, please submit your comments in writing to the acting CEO by 17 March.
